DAILY ACTIVITIES

Students will experience the following activities daily in their multi-grade groups.

Brain Friendly Learning

This time is focused on helping students learn about how they learn best. Activities during this time are meant to help students use physical motion along with other research-based techniques to see how they can maximize their learning.

Daily Physical Activity (DPA)

This time focuses on play-based learning and allows students to explore, negotiate, identify, be risk-takers, and make meaning for themselves through various activities. It also affords students time for active indoor and outdoor physical play. Providing students 20 minutes of Daily Physical Activity leads to a healthier environment with increased student achievement.

Swimming & Aquatics Program

Swimming is an important life skill that all children should learn early on. All students will be given swimming courses by qualified instructors at Seocho District Office Eunnam Culture and Sports Center. Students are required to bring a swimming cap, goggles, and a towel. Further details will be provided in May 28th. Swimming courses will be provided for girls on Monday and Tuesday, for boys on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sports & Athletics

Students will go daily to an outside facility where they will practice sports and athletic techniques and improve their skills in this area.

Design Time!

This class provides students with the freedom to build products for RIS and its surrounding community by applying the steps of the engineering design process. In this class, students will work to experiment with LEGO bricks, build Rube Goldberg Machines, and create other products they will give to the community.

Reflecting & Sharing

As students part ways for the day, we all say our end-of-the-day goodbyes. At this time, students take a moment to reflect on the day and share some things they learned about themselves and others.
